Second-seeded Dinara was upset Tuesday in the second round of the Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships in Dubai by France’s Virginie Razzano, 64 62.

“She played I think one of her best matches and I was not there,” said Dinara, whose next scheduled tournament appearance is in Indian Wells the second week of March. “I didn’t give myself the chance to play. It was one of those days today and I’ll just have to forget it and get ready for Indian Wells.

“I’ve been practicing great and was feeling good. I guess sometimes it happens, you know. You’re feeling good, playing great in practice and you expect to play like that in the match. But sometimes it takes time to transfer your form into the match.”

Dinara’s career record against Razzano drops to 3-2. It was her first match since her loss in the Australian Open finals to Serena Williams. Last year, Dinara lost in the second round of Dubai to Anna Chakvetadze. She lost in the first round in her only other previous appearance in 2003.
